Hear about how writing duo, Micaela Maftei and Laura Tansley, craft their blended voice and take part in practical exercises inspired by the GWL collection. With feedback and the opportunity to share your work in a friendly space, this workshop is open to established, emerging and new writers alike.
Open Waters, Saturday 1st June, 1.30pm to 3.30pm, £2/Free, 16+
Authors Laura Tansley and Micaela Maftei have been working together for over ten years. During this time they have researched and explored acts of co-writing, and the power and pleasure of this practice. Together, they will lead a practical workshop that explores collaborative writing. This event is presented in support of a book of co-written short stories, The Reach of a Root, released with Vagabond Voices. This workshop will discuss the choices involved in collaboration, as well as activities designed to allow you to explore these issues in their own writing.
Discussion will centre on examples of co-produced texts from the Glasgow Women’s Library and Archive, inspiring you to consider shared creative voices, community and selfhood. Practical exercises will allow you to experiment in a supportive setting, with opportunities for sharing and feedback to help develop collaborative work, be it fiction, non-fiction or poetry. With a focus on finding connections, this workshop will be a fun, friendly and thoughtful opportunity to reach out in writing and discover how and what we share.
